Back in July 2008, Pacquiao planned to entice Mayweather out of retirement, by beating De la Hoya and Hatton.
Pacquiao's plan came true - Mayweather came out of retirement. Floyd even returned on the eve of Pacquiao Hatton bout, fighting no less than Marquez, a boxer which Pacquiao has close fight with.
Fast forward to September 2009, according to Philippine Star, Pacquiao was overheard saying this words, on board the Gulfstream G200 eight-seater plane that took him out of San Francisco to Burbank in LA:
"We should focus on Cotto first."
“If Mayweather and I both win, it is us who would be fighting next."
"Talks are on."
