The Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather showdown is getting closer and closer to being a done deal. Both men have now agreed on 8oz gloves, and it appears as if both men have agreed on the purse split. The venue is still undecided, but reports are that HBO and Bob Arum have narrowed the choices down to Las Vegas, Dallas (Texas stadium) and New Orleans (Superdome).

Both camps are slowly but surely starting their engines, and recently on Joe Buck Live, Floyd Mayweather Jr respectfully said that he would be victorious when the two do meet in the ring. Mayweather also talked about his undefeated record and commented on being a champion for his entire career. Of course his detractors would counter that his choice of opponents have been cherry picked, and were smaller. Nevertheless it appears as if this fight is beginning to come together, and kudos goes out to promoter Bob Arum for working hard on this bad boy. It's the fight that must happen, all of the ingredients are in place for this to be an explosive event. Not only inside of the ring, but outside of the ring as well.

It's a great match-up that boxing fans on both sides of the spectrum should enjoy. Pacquiao brings speed and power, and Mayweather brings speed and defense. Mayweather plays the villain part well, and Pacquiao plays the good guy roll well. Calling the card, "Good vs Evil" would be a stretch though. Mayweather love him or hate him does do good things for his community.

I don't think that the hundred's people who were hungry this past Thanksgiving, that Mayweather fed think that the guy is all bad that's for sure. As far as Pacquiao goes, his proof is in the pudding when it comes to humanitarian causes.

This fight has all of the ingredients of a spectacular showdown between the two top fighters in the world. It's getting closer and closer, and will probably be official within the next few weeks.
